SedrunSolar

A milestone in alpine energy generation

The SedrunSolar project is being built at an altitude of over 2,000 metres in the Scharinas/Cuolm Val area. Together with our partner Crestageo AG, we are helping to realise this ultra-modern photovoltaic system, which is a prime example of sustainable energy generation.

A project of impressive size

SedrunSolar sets new standards:

  • Output: With a capacity of 19.3 megawatts (MW), the plant supplies around 6,500 households with electricity.
  • Annual production: 29 GWh, 47% of which in winter
  • Location: At an altitude of 2,000 metres, the project copes with extreme weather conditions and makes optimum use of the alpine location.

Technological precision from Lumesa

To implement the project, Zindellogistik designed the Mutnaniala (marmot), consisting of approx. 2.5 tonnes of steel, a diesel engine, hydraulics and two Lumesa rigs, one for translation and the other for drilling.

The Muntaniala impresses with a size of 6 x 8 metres and a weight of around 4 tonnes. Its drilling capacity of 4 metres is supported by a thrust force of 40 kN and a rotational torque of 500 daNm. A Mounty® BL92S with NL1a rotary head is used. A specially adapted Mounty® BL91 with a stroke of 4.55 metres was used for precise displacement.

Sustainable energy for the future

SedrunSolar shows how technology, environmental awareness and efficiency can be combined. The plant not only supplies energy, but also sets an example for the sustainable use of resources. We are proud to have had the opportunity to accompany our friends from Crestageo AG on this spectacular experience.
