Micropiles for the modernisation and addition of storeys
Sustainability and efficiency took centre stage during the refurbishment and extension of the Lindenmatt West residential development in Bolligen, Bern, by the company Marti Spezialtiefbau AG. Precise piling work was required for the stabilisation and renovation of the buildings and the addition of 36 extra flats. The innovative solutions from Lumesa and Küchler Technik AG were utilised.
Lumesa technology for tight spaces
Thanks to the portable Mounty® BL90 drill rig and the powerful HBH91HF hammer drill, the piling work was successfully carried out during the ongoing modernisation work and despite the limited space on site.
Küchler self-drilling anchors - efficiency and stability
KSB® self-drilling anchors from Küchler Technik AG were used for the secure anchoring of the micropiles. These anchors provided the necessary stability and efficiency to complete the construction work quickly and reliably.
Additional information on the construction site
The Lindenmatt West residential complex was built in 1960/1961 and increasingly failed to meet modern housing needs and sustainability requirements. With the renovation of the existing 200 flats and the addition of 36 extra storeys, the development is being adapted to current needs. The upgrading of the green spaces will make the neighbourhood more attractive and improve the quality of life. In addition, the project is designed as a ‘Minergie Areal’ pilot project in collaboration with the Swiss Minergie office, thus ensuring the sustainable development of the estate.
